Train times are:

May I bring a child under 1 year old on the train?

Children under the age of 1 do not need a ticket. They are required to sit on parent’s lap.

May I bring a car seat or stroller?

No strollers or car seats will be allowed on the train.

No equipment will be permitted in the aisles of the train. All bags must be stored overhead.

How do I purchase tickets?

All tickets are sold via Eventbrite:

Check back for the Eventbrite link. Tickets purchases are by credit card only.

Review all of your information for accuracy before you purchase your tickets.The maximum number of tickets you may purchase is 10.

No cash sales and NO REFUNDS. No exceptions.

We do not host any type of ticket resale platform.

What can I do if tickets are sold out?

Once tickets are sold out, you may opt to join the limited waitlist. In the event additional tickets become available, Eventbrite will offer them to customers on the waitlist on a first come, first served basis. Customers will be given a limited time to respond to a ticket purchase offer.

Once the waitlist is full, it will be closed to new entries. Historically, we have only been able to offer tickets to a few people on the waitlist.

How do I receive confirmation of purchase and get my tickets?

Ticket purchase confirmation which contains ticketing information will be sent to the email provided at the time of ticket purchase. The email that you use to purchase the tickets will be the email that is used to communicate with you regarding your current purchase. In many cases, these emails may land in your junk/spam folders, so please be sure to check there.

If you still have not received an email confirming receipt of your purchase, please email eventbrite. If you still need assistance please email icnpexpress@icsnewburyport.com with your name, email, number of tickets you purchased and for what ride time and we will check on them and get back to you.

Do I print my tickets?

You may print your tickets or you may access tickets via your mobile device. QR codes will be scanned at ticket check-in and you will be given wristbands required for boarding the train.

Are seats reserved?
Seats are not reserved. Passengers will be escorted to a specific train car at boarding time based on where they are in line. Please be sure to have all members of your party line up together to ensure you will be boarded to the same train car.

Do you have handicapped accessible seating?

There are designated handicap accessible areas on the train. Please contact us in advance at icnpexpress@icsnewburyport.com in order to make sure that we are able to accommodate your needs.

When should we arrive?

Riders should check in 30-60 minutes prior to their departure time on the day of the event. Your ticket QR code will be scanned and each rider will be given a wristband that must be worn for boarding. Once you are checked in please enjoy the Polar Village photo opportunities and shopping.

We are meeting other families for the ride and we would like to sit together. How do we arrange this?

We cannot make seating arrangements for large parties. If you would like to sit together you must line up together and you will be escorted to the same train car by our platform managers. There is no saving of seats.

Is parking free?

The cost of parking is included in your ticket price. There is plenty of parking available at the train station. Passengers riding the 11:30 and 3:15 trains should park at the Boston Way parking lot. Passengers riding the 1:15 and 5:30 trains should park at the Route 1 side parking lot. Direct access to the train will only be available from the Polar Village (the station off Boston Way – see map). Passengers who park in the Route 1 parking lot may cross the railway tracks to get to the Polar Village

Please do not park in the spots reserved for Metzy’s Cantina.

How long is the trip to the North Pole?
The ride is approximately 45-50 minutes

Are refreshments available?

All guests will be served a cookie. Additionally, Mrs. Claus bakery will be open if you’d like to purchase additional homemade goodies.

Are you a peanut/dairy free environment?

The ingredient list for the Christmas cookie served on board will be available. Inquiries about ingredients in items sold at Mrs. Claus’ bakery can be directed to our volunteers working there.

What is the Polar Village?
The Polar Village is an extension of the North Pole Express train ride. It houses Mrs. Claus and other characters for photo opportunities as well as Mrs. Claus’ Bakery.

Will we see Santa Claus?

Yes! Santa and his elves board the train in the North Pole and walk through each train car on the return trip to Newburyport.

I can’t find my tickets. What do I do?

What if there is inclement weather?

Due to the enormous efforts required to put on this event, the North Pole Express will run rain, snow, sleet or hail. No refunds will be issued if you miss your train.

Does the North Pole have a lost and found?

Yes, it is located in the Polar Village on the day of the event only. Otherwise, send an email to icnpexpress@icsnewburyport.com with your contact information and a

description of your lost item.
